We’ve recently invested in an automated pallet inverter as part of our upgraded warehouse rework station. This new addition has unlocked new capabilities for us as a logistics provider, allowing us to support our clients with various packaging challenges they may not be able to solve in-house. It’s all part of our ongoing commitment to improving efficiency and further strengthening the value-added services we offer.
A pallet inverter is an electric machine designed to safely invert or rotate full pallet loads. Ours handles up to 2 tonnes with 180-degree rotation for precise realignment. In simple terms, it allows us to straighten wobbly or ‘shot’ pallets, making them compliant to pallet parameters, and then being transferred to the ‘stretch wrap’ machine for load and transportation security.
The inverter is complemented with two pallet wrap machines as part of our newly streamlined rework process. This setup enables us to quickly and consistently re-wrap, stabilise, and correct pallet loads. It also has the added benefit of reducing operator time and risk, saving hours of manual work each week while boosting throughput and accuracy.
We realised the opportunity to invest in this machinery and upgrade our warehouse rework station because many of our clients simply don’t have this type of equipment on-site. By bringing this capability in-house, we can support customer-specific requirements, such as retail compliance, and reduce waste and rejected loads. It’s a unique offering in the logistics market, and yet another example of how VLT Logistics continues to lead the way.
